International Photography Festival

The Festival was born in 2011 with the aim of spreading and promoting contemporary photography in search of new visions and original forms of visual communication and is recognized among the most successful and important festivals in Europe and in the world. The central theme of the 2021 edition, entitled “We are Humans”, aims to be a collective story of our human being, between intimacy and the public dimension. The participation and collaboration of international photography experts contribute to the creation of a unique event of its kind. The city of Cortona with its millenary history is the backdrop to the exhibitions that are set up in the ancient palaces, in the historic villages of the city center and in the Medici Fortress of Girifalco. During the festival the town turns into a stage ready to welcome tourists and visitors who want to get to know the city and appreciate its hospitality through its medieval villages, historic buildings, museums and countless churches and monasteries from various eras. The numerous refreshment points in the city center will allow the traveler to learn more about the gastronomic specialties made with typical local products accompanied by the wines of the valley.
