Day dedicated to the discovery of the Iron Route of the Pistoia mountains, an area rich in natural energy, namely water and wood, which guaranteed the driving force and fuel for iron processing: the Iron Museum and Garden of Renewable Energy in Pontepetri; the Antica Ferriera Papini in Maresca and the SMI (Italian metallurgical society) Museum and Refuge in Campo Tizzoro. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Night visit to the Gavinana Astronomical Observatory for the observation of celestial bodies.

Going towards Abetone, stop in Mammiano Basso for an exciting walk on the Suspended Bridge (a structure made of steel cables 220 meters long at 40 meters above the Lima river), one of the longest pedestrian bridges in the world. Day dedicated to the discovery of the Naturalistic Itinerary of the Pistoia mountains, a multifaceted environmental heritage: the Forest Botanical Garden of Abetone, a splendid garden at a high altitude between 1270 and 1300 meters, which houses botanical species (carnivorous and medicinal plants) and forest (spruce) characteristics of the Upper Apennines and the Naturalistic and Archaeological Museum of Gavinana, a museum of natural history (animals, rocks, minerals, fossils) and of human presence in prehistoric times on the Pistoia Apennines.
