On our tour you will explore the masterpieces of one of the greatest artists of the 16th century and a favorite of the Medici family: Jean de Boulogne, known as Giambologna. Together, we will get to know his many talents, visiting his works in the National Museum of Bargello, Piazza della Signoria, Orsanmichele, and the Boboli Gardens.

Morning

At 9 a.m., you will meet your tour guide in front of the Bargello National Museum. Guided tour to learn about the works of Giambologna, Donatello, Verrocchio and Cellini. Your guide will eventually lead you to the Loggia dei Lanzi, situated the most famous squares of Florence: Piazza della Signoria. There, you can admire the beautiful statues by Giambologna, specifically “the Rape of the Sabines” and the Equestrian statue of Cosimo I de’Medici. The tour will continue to the Orsanmichele Church, where you will appreciate the statue of Saint Luke, where the morning tour ends.

Afternoon

At 2:30 p.m. you will meet with your guide in front of the Loggia dei Lanzi. After a short walk through Por Santa Maria and Ponte Vecchio, you will reach the magnificent Palazzo Pitti, the former residence of the Medici family, surrounded by the renaissance gardens they created: Boboli Gardens. Your guide will lead you through Boboli Gardens, where you will admire stunning statues, fountains, and grottos. Some highlights include: an artificial Grotto commissioned to architect Buontalenti by Fernando I de’Medici, the Oceanus Fountain, the Monkey’s Fountain and the statue of Giove Olimpico by Giambologna.
