Dante tour: from the divine comedy to the divine table

An experience of culture, literature and Florentine cuisine. A guided walking tour in the medieval district of Florence on the footsteps of Dante. A step back in time to the ancient Florence dotted with tower-houses, when the city was renowned for bankers and merchants. A tasting tour around the simple and tasty flavours of the cuisine of the 14th century.

How the tour is structured...

Participants will meet at 10.00 in Repubblica Square in Florence. Meeting with the guide and start of the walking tour through the medieval district. By following the inscriptions taken from the Divine Comedy placed in the area you will discover where Dante lived. The guide will tell you about Dante as a poet and a politician and about the love story between Dante and Beatrice. A real step back in time, when Florence was the most important city in Europe and its inhabitants were so rich and consequently corrupted and violent. After the tour, transfer on foot to a restaurant for a lunch based on simple and typical dishes of Dante’s time.
