Travel Program

Wine and food experiences to discover the authentic flavours of Siena town, improving with cooking classes based on local ingredients tastings. Chianti and Brunello wine tasting at particular wineries where the sommeliers will show the wine production steps. Guests will also enjoy Pecorino di Pienza and Saffron from San Gimignano tasting.

How the experience is structured...

1st day
Arrival of the guests in Siena and check in at a relais in the immediate outskirts. Meet up with the chef to enjoy the private cooking lesson consisting of the preparation of a complete menu with local carefully selected ingredients. At the end of the class guests are supposed to have dinner with the chef and tasting their dishes accompanied by prestigious wines. Overnight stay at the relais.
2nd day
Breakfast at the relais. The morning is dedicated to the Chianti wine experience. Visit to a Chianti winery where an expert will guide the guests on an olfactory journey of natural essences recalling the taste of Chianti wine; guided wine tasting accompanied by typical local products. Typical light lunch at the winery. In the afternoon unique experience at a Chianti oil mill to enjoy the precious extra virgin olive oil. Return to the relais for dinner and overnight stay.
3rd day
Breakfast at the relais. Guided visit to Sant'Antimo Abbey, inhabited over the centuries by Benedictine monks. Continuation of the visit to the medieval town of Montalcino and to a Brunello wine estate situated in a panoramic position. A guided tour will take guests to the Brunello wine cellars to learn about the process of transforming grapes into wine, followed by a tasting of the estate's wines and local products such as honey. In the afternoon, transfer to the Renaissance town of Pienza for a guided walk with a stop at a farm with breeding, processing and direct sale of the famous "Pecorino di Pienza" cheese. Dinner in a restaurant tasting the famous handmade pici. Return to the relais for an overnight stay.
4th day
Breakfast at the relais. The morning dedicated to a guided tour of San Gimignano, the city of a hundred towers and a local saffron producer. Lunch at the company with a dedicated menu based on the spice. Return to the relais for dinner and overnight stay.
5th day
Breakfast at the relais. Check out and departure.
