Tour of Tuscany: discovering the popular and unknown excellences of Tuscany

Starting from Florence for a classical tour of Siena, one of the most charming medieval cities in Italy and Arezzo. We will travel along the panoramic roads of the Chianti Hills and visit small iconic medieval towns like San Gimignano.

How the journey is structured...

Day 1

Florence: at 3.00 pm meeting at the hotel. Walking tour to discover the most important Florentine monuments as an introduction in the town. Our walk will be an opportunity not only to discover the Florentine Renaissance, but also to experience the traditions and the daily lifestyle. The tour ends at a typical Florentine Cafè. Dinner and night.

Day 2

Florence. Full board. The city-tour includes a sensational visit to some of the Florentine historic gardens. Some botanical species grown inside are still used to produce perfumes, soaps, creams and cosmetics. At the end of the tour you will visit an exclusive Maison du Parfum, located in a historic Renaissance palace.

Day 3

San Gimignano. Breakfast. Leaving Florence to San Gimignano enjoying the amazing view over the Chianti Hills. Once close to the town you will enjoy a skyline dotted with 13 towers. Enjoy the historical and sensorial visit among spices, gardens, olive groves and vineyards representing agrifood high quality products: traditions, sustainability, environment and landscape of Tuscany. Lunch in typical “trattoria”. In the afternoon transfer to Siena. Accomodation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Siena. Full board. Meet your guide at the hotel for the city sightseeing. The medieval city sourrounded by smooth hills, located in the heart of Tuscany is one of the most popular town in the world. Visit of Santa Maria della Scala Complex and the important masterpieces by Simone Martini, Ambrogio and Pietro Lorenzetti; visiting the Civic Museum inside Palazzo Pubblico you will enjoy the Majesty by Simone Martini and the Good and Bad Government by Ambrogio Lorenzetti.

Day 5

Val d'Orcia and Arezzo. Breakfast. Departure to Val d’Orcia. Not far from Siena, this area of plowed fields, green hills, little towns and iconic landscapes will introduce you in the Southern part of Tuscany. Visiting Monte Oliveto Maggiore Abbey, admiring the sensational frescoes by Painter Signorelli, one of the most important masterpieces of Renaissance. You also will cross the lunar landscapes of the “Crete Senesi” and finally reach Pienza. Lunch in local restaurant. In afternoon transfer to Arezzo, where so many of artists and poets were born. Accomodation. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Arezzo, Sansepolcro, Anghiari. Breakfast. Meet your guide and visit Basilica of San Francis, admiring the magnificent frescos “The Legend of True Cross” by Piero della Francesca. After the visit, transfer to Sansepolcro. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Visiting the home town of Piero you get the great opportunity to visit Aboca Museum with the tour “Herbs and Health through the Ages”, celebrating the therapeutic power of herbs the age-old story of the relationship between humans and plants. On the way back to Arezzo, you will stop in Anghiari for a short visit of this medieval treasure. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Florence. Breakfast. At 10.00 transfer to Florence. End of services.
