Val D’Orcia, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino and Bagno Vignoni

Back in time aboard a steam train. The flavors of Val D'Orcia, Pienza and Montalcino. From wines to gastronomic products with a strong taste. A varied and complete itinerary arriving to Bagno Vignoni with marvellous Piazza delle Sorgenti.

How the experience is structured...

1st day

Full board. Guided tour of Pienza, a village rich in history, art and culture, too declared a world heritage site. You can stroll through the village, take a tour of the walls to admire a postcard view and get lost in the streets of love, four very romantic alleys that Film Director  Franco Zeffirelli chose to shoot some scenes of his Romeo and Juliet. Lunch with tasting of typical local products. We continue to Montepulciano, a unique medieval village with elegant Renaissance palaces, ancient churches, splendid squares including the splendid Piazza Grande and small hidden corners that can be discovered walking through the streets. From some points of the village it is possible to admire the surrounding countryside all covered by fabulous vineyards that produce the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOC!

2nd day

Full board. Guided tour of Montalcino, the town famous all over the world for its Brunello. Dominated by its Fortress, Montalcino offers a truly spectacular panorama overlooking the valley ranging from Monte Amiata, through the Crete Senesi. Do not miss the opportunity to take unforgettable photos and drink one of the best wines in the world! Stop at the most characteristic thermal village of Val d'Orcia: Bagno Vignoni, famous for its Piazza delle Sorgenti, a large stone basin in the center of the town, built in the sixteenth century, which contains hot spring water of thermal origin and which with its colored waters and its vapors, creates an evocative and surprising scenario, further embellished by the Renaissance buildings that surround it.

3rd day

Half board. One of the many ways to admire the artistic and cultural natural park of Val D'Orcia is to board the "Nature Train" which, strictly by steam, with its littorine of the 50s accompanies passengers through unusual daily itineraries (departing and return to Siena), to discover the history, tradition and food and wine excellences of the Terre di Siena. Stops are possible in romantic stations from which you can reach churches, villages and castles; you can stop for a tasting on a farm or take the opportunity to participate in festivals and celebrations.
