What not to miss in Arezzo: the Antiques Fair

Where : Arezzo historic center
When : Every first Sunday of the month and the previous Saturday
What : Antiques, handcrafted creations and much more

Are you an antiques lover? Are you looking for a special and unique souvenir to take with you on your return from your holiday in Tuscany? Absolutely you cannot miss Arezzo and its renowned Antiques Fair: a fixed appointment since 1968, it is the oldest and largest fair of this kind in Italy.

The fair owes its birth to Ivan Bruschi, antiquarian and creator of this event; the palace owned by his family, the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo, was the first place where Bruschi began showing antiques to his guests with pride. He gave life to what is now the Ivan Bruschi House Museum, which immediately became an exclusive and highly suggestive place. The House Museum is located in Corso Italia in Arezzo and can still be visited today, a place of wonders right in the heart of the city, where the aesthetic-cultural philosophy of its founder is still livable thanks to the evocative setting up of its precious and eclectic collection.

The antiques fair has more than 400 vendors and extends throughout the city center, enlivening squares and alleys. For this reason, while exploring the stalls of the fair you will have the opportunity to enter the magnificent city of Arezzo, founded in the times of the Etruscans and which still retains Roman ruins, medieval walls and Renaissance architecture. Exhibitors come from all over Italy to offer locals and visitors unique pieces with an antique taste, collectibles and handcrafted creations, including furniture, jewelry, bijoux, books, scientific and musical instruments and much more.
