But what are the characteristics that a good truffle dog must have?
The important thing is that he has a developed sense of smell directed only to truffles. The truffle dog must also be focused only on truffle hunting, be resistant to fatigue and disinterested in game. Obviously he must be absolutely obedient and preferably with a calm character.
Many travelers have already tried for the first time to wear boots and go looking for truffles in a truffle ground in Mugello, led by the truffle masters Mauro and Alessandro and their faithful dogs Pedro, Stella and Luna.
